"Acupuncture is a form of
primary health care, based on traditional Chinese medical concepts and
modern oriental medical techniques, that employs acupuncture diagnosis and
treatment as well as adjunctive therapies and diagnostic techniques, for
the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health and the prevention

Basically, it is a therapeutic technique that
involves the use of specially manufactured, extremely thin needles. These
needles are inserted just beneath the skin at specific points on the body
(called Acupoints) in order to stimuate and to regulate the energy in the body for the purpose of
curing diseases and maintaining good health.
The World Health Organization (WHO) lists over 100
diseases and disorders for which Acupuncture treatment has been found to
be effective.These include, but are not limited to:

rhinitis -
depression
- bronchitis

heachache
- knee disorders

nausea and indigestion - infertility
